Camargo, Lien and Schrader Named Carolina League Year-End All-Stars

ZEBULON, NC - The Carolina Mudcats, the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and member of the historic Carolina League, are proud to announce today that shortstop Johan Camargo, outfielder Connor Lien and first baseman Jacob Schrader were all named 2015 Carolina League year-end honorary All-Stars.

League managers, general managers and local media chose the honorary year-end All-Stars and Carolina League superlative awards. Camargo was recognized as the league's top shortstop, Lien was listed as one of four All-Star outfielders and Schrader earned designated hitter of the year honors.

Camargo, 21, was a mid-season Carolina League All-Star in 2015 and is currently ranked as the 20th best prospect in the Atlanta Braves farm system by MLB.com. The Panamanian born Camargo is in his fifth year as a pro and currently leads the league in most double plays and most assists among league shortstops in 2015.

Lien, 21, has set several career bests this season including highs in hits, runs, RBI and stolen bases. At the time of the announcement, Lien was batting .284 with a career high 32 steals and 118 hits over 119 games. Through August 28, Lied led Carolina League outfielders in assists and most double plays with 19 and six respectively. He was named the Mudcats' player of the month in May by the Braves after batting .309/.364/.494 over 26 games and was the Carolina League Player of the Week on July 13 after batting .375/.429/.667 with five stolen bases between July 6 and July 12.

Schrader, 24, has also enjoyed career bests in home runs, RBI and runs this season with Carolina. He hit his team and Atlanta farm system best 14th home run of the season on August 28 vs. Lynchburg at Five County Stadium and was third in the league in home runs at the time of the announcement. Schrader was also in the top five among all Carolina League batters in slugging percentage, RBI and extra-base hits. Like Lien, Schrader also earned Mudcats player of the month honors as named by the Braves in April.

Lynchburg's Nellie Rodriguez was named the 2015 Carolina League Most Valuable Player and Winston-Salem's Matt Heidenreich was named Pitcher of the Year. Manager Mark Johnson of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans was selected as the league's Manager of the Year.
