Club de Foot Montreal News Release

TORONTO, Ontario - The Montreal Impact heads to BMO Field to take on Toronto FC on Saturday at 4pm, in what is the second edition of MLS Rivalry Week in 2015 (RDS, TSN, TSN Radio 690).

"After a tough game on Wednesday, we need to focus back on the league. We had a great training session today, said Impact head coach Frank Klopas. There is no easy game, starting with tomorrow, but we need to get points on the road to help us reach the playoffs. We know that Toronto will come out with energy, so we expect a fast start. We need to be ready for that and not concede an early goal."

This all-Canadian matchup will be the third game in eight days for Montreal, following a 1-0 defeat to Philadelphia last Saturday, and a 10-man, 2-0 loss to Vancouver on Wednesday night, who were crowned 2015 Canadian champions with the result.

Despite some tough results over its last five games, the Impact is still holding on to a playoff spot (6th in the Eastern Conference), with a few games in hand on the four teams trailing them.

"We need a positive mentality and go on the pitch wanting to take points," said defender Wandrille Lefèvre. "Every point counts at this time of the year. It's not easy in Toronto and we have to be intelligent in our way to approach the game."

IMFC has managed to play solid defensively over this difficult stretch, allowing just seven goals in its last five games across all competitions.

Midfielder Justin Mapp, who made his first start Wednesday since returning from elbow surgery, has had some success against the Reds over his career, with three goals and four assist in 11 games played.

TFC (10-10-4) is just six points ahead of the Impact (8-10-4), while the Bleu-blanc-noir holds two games in hand on the Reds.

Toronto is a skilled team offensively, with the likes of Sebastien Giovinco (17G, 12A), Jozy Altidore (9G) and Michael Bradley (6A). The Reds have gotten more dangerous recently with the addition of former U.S. men's international Hercules Gomez.

However, their play has been inconsistent. In its last five games, TFC registered two wins and scored nine goals, including a 5-0 drubbing over Orlando City SC last weekend thanks in part to a tactical switch to a 4-3-3 formation. But when the offence isn't clicking, the team concedes, as shown in the nine goals against over three losses.

The Impact's next match is set for Stade Saputo on Saturday, September 5, at 8pm, against the Chicago Fire. Purchase your 5-Game Pack to secure your seat for every remaining home game of the 2015 season, starting at just $85.
