Beloit Sky Carp News Release
BELOIT, Wisc. - West Bend Mutual has donated $50 to the Stateline Community Foundation with each of the first 30 Snappers home runs hit at Pohlman Field during the 2015 season.
The Beloit Snappers got there easily this year, hitting 48 homers at Pohlman Field.
During yesterday's game against the Kane County Cougars, Cheryl Bell from West Bend and Peter Marino and Mark Senz representing Senz Insurance presented the check in the amount of $1,500 to Snappers President, Dennis Conerton and Snappers' Assistant General Manager, Seth Flolid, who accepted the check on behalf of the Stateline Community Foundation.
The purpose of the Stateline Community Foundation is to promote the betterment of the greater Beloit community and the enhancement of the quality of life for all of its citizens.
The Stateline Community Foundation is proud to stand as the region's leading resource for information about charitable giving and community needs. They encourage, support and facilitate meaningful dialogue on issues affecting each of our communities, and work with philanthropists to develop creative solutions to meet critical community needs.
Since its inception in 1986, The Stateline Community Foundation has helped public-spirited citizens find ways to address community problems. The funds they manage now number in the millions. Through them, their donors support numerous organizations and serve a variety of extraordinary causes. Our donors and funds all share a common purpose: to make the Wisconsin, Illinois Stateline region a better place to live, work and play.
The Snappers are 51-76 on the season and 25-32 in the second half and are a third-year affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. After a nine game road trip, the Snappers return home to Pohlman Field in Beloit for the last three games of the year, September 5th through the 7th against the Quad Cities River Bandits. To buy tickets, stop by the office at Pohlman Field or call (608) 362-2272. Stay tuned to www.snappersbaseball.com and the Snappers' Facebook and Twitter accounts for all up to date news.
