(Bridgeport, Ct- August 26, 2015) - The Bridgeport Bluefish (25-21, 51-65) defeated the Long Island Ducks (24-22, 70-46) 6-1 at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Wednesday, completing a three-game sweep of the series. The Bluefish have now won four consecutive games overall, and register their 14th head-to-head victory against the Ducks this season, clinching the Ferry Cup for the first time since 2012.

Bridgeport Starting Pitcher David Anderson (2-0) picked up the win, tossing six innings, allowing just one run on three hits, walking two and striking out four. Long Island Starting Pitcher Ian Marshall (7-7) was tagged with the loss, lasting just two and two-thirds innings, surrendering five runs on three hits, walking seven (one intentionally), while striking out one, throwing a wild pitch, and hitting one batter.

Long Island took the early 1-0 lead off Anderson in the top half of the first inning on a two-out, opposite field run scoring single by former Bluefish Sean Burroughs, plating Fehlandt Lentini with the game's first run after he drew a leadoff walk to open up the contest. The game turned quickly in favor of Bridgeport in the home half of the third inning, as the 'Fish sent 11 batters to the plate against Marshall, scoring five runs to take a 5-1 edge. Andres Rodriguez brought home Ethan Chapman with a fielder's choice, after Chapman reached on an infield single to begin the rally. Jeudy Valdez and Anderson followed with back-to-back bases loaded walks. Anderson helped out his own caused after he was forced to bat in the spot in the order previously occupied by Luis Rodriguez, who had to leave the game due to injury, which meant that Jobduan Morales had to move from designated hitter to catcher, thus forcing Bridgeport to send Anderson to the plate. Morales scored the fourth run of the inning on a wild pitch from Marshall, and Chapman, hitting for the second time in the inning, drew yet another walk with the bags juiced, plating Valdez with the fifth run, sending Marshall to the showers as he allowed just one hit in the frame, but walked six while hitting one batter and tossing a wild pitch. Chapman now has seven rib eye steaks in his last four games overall.

The Bluefish added an insurance run in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Ethan Chapman, scoring Morales who reached on a leadoff free pass. Anderson registered his second straight quality start and left it in the hands of his bullpen, and the trio of Sam Gervacio, Steven Ames, and Erik Draxton pitched three scoreless and hitless innings, striking out four. The 'Fish are now tied for first place in the Second Half of the Liberty Division Standings with the Somerset Patriots with just 24 games remaining in the regular season. Andres Rodriguez and Chapman led the way for the Bluefish with a pair of hits each.
