Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers close out their series against the Albuquerque Isotopes at 7:35 p.m. Central time at Isotopes Park. The Dodgers lead the series, 2-1.

Last Game: The Dodgers scored six runs over the seventh and eighth innings, and the pitching staff turned in another strong night in an 8-2 win over Albuquerque Tuesday at Isotopes Park. Corey Seager started the scoring very quickly for the Dodgers with a home run in the first inning. The Isotopes answered with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning from Cristhian Adames. The game remained tied until the fifth inning when Seager sent a soft line drive to left field for a RBI single and a 2-1 lead. The Dodgers got some breathing room in the seventh, scoring three times. With runners at second and third with one out, relief pitcher Jharel Cotton lined a two-run triple down the left field line in his first Triple-A at-bat, making it 4-1. Cotton later scored on an error by Albuquerque first baseman Willin Rosario. The Dodgers rapped out four hits in a three-run eighth. Scott Schebler and Barney each collected RBI singles, and Austin Barnes scored on a wild pitch to make it 8-1. Tommy Murphy hit a solo home run for the Isotopes in the ninth. Making a spot start, David Huff delivered five strong innings, holding the Isotopes to one run and two hits, with four strikeouts and two walks. John Lannan (6-9) picked up the loss for Albuquerque, allowing five runs (four earned) and seven hits over 6.1 innings.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Joe Wieland (10-5) looks to continue his recent roll as he makes his team-leading 21st start of the season...Wieland earned his 10th win in his last start Aug. 21 against Reno, becoming the first OKC pitcher to reach the 10-win mark since Michael Kirkman in 2010 (13 wins). Wieland allowed one run on two hits with one walk and four strikeouts over 6.0 innings against the Aces. He retired 16 of the final 17 batters he faced, including the last 10 straight...Over his last three starts, Wieland is 3-0 with a 0.86 ERA (2 ER/21.0 IP) and opponents are batting .194 overall, including 3-for-25 with runners on base. During that time he's racked up 19 strikeouts against just one walk...Going back to July 26, Wieland is 5-1 in his last six starts with a 2.33 ERA, turning in three outings of seven innings or more...Wieland currently leads the team in starts (20), innings (107.2), and strikeouts (87). He's also tied for first on the squad with 10 wins with Zach Lee. Tonight he'll aim to become just the sixth pitcher in OKC's PCL era (since 1998) to notch at least 11 wins in one season...The Dodgers are 15-5 in his starts...Tonight marks Wieland's first career appearance against the Isotopes.

Against the Isotopes: 2015: 2-1 2014: 4-0 All-time: 99-83 In ALB: 41-50

The Dodgers have won 13 of the last 14 games against the Isotopes, and Albuquerque's win Monday snapped OKC's 12-game winning streak against the Isotopes...This marks the lone series of the season between the teams...OKC has not visited Albuquerque since June 1-4, 2013, splitting the series, 2-2...Last season OKC swept a four-game set in Bricktown, Aug 24-27, outscoring the Isotopes, 24-10...Between 2003-2013, OKC and Albuquerque met each other 16 times per season, but now only meet for one series each year due to divisional realignment in the PCL last season...The Isotopes were the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate the past six seasons (see more below).

Old Faces, New Places: Although the Isotopes were the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate from 2009-14, only three players on OKC's active roster have suited up for Albuquerque in the past -- Darwin Barney, Yimi Garcia, and Zach Lee. However, there are currently three players on the DL who are also former Isotopes (Josh Ravin, Steve Smith, and Ramon Troncoso). Manager Damon Berryhill was Albuquerque's skipper last season, and hitting coach Franklin Stubbs served in the same capacity for Albuquerque over the previous two seasons. Athletic trainer Greg Harrel was with Albuquerque 2009-11, and strength and conditioning coach Travis Smith was also with the Isotopes 2013-14.

Winning Ways: The Dodgers have won 12 of their last 16 games, following a stretch where they lost nine of 14...On Tuesday, Iowa split a doubleheader and Omaha lost, pushing OKC's first-place lead to seven games ahead of Iowa and 7.5 games ahead of Omaha. The Dodgers' largest division lead was 11 games entering play on July 4, but they have gone 26-24 since. After their first-place lead was cut all the way down to three games, the Dodgers have added four games to their lead since Aug. 1...The Dodgers and Fresno are tied for the league lead with 79 wins. They represent two of the four teams in the Minors with at least 79 victories...Tonight the Dodgers will look to become the fifth team during OKC's 18 seasons in the PCL to win at least 80 games, and do it for a second time in three seasons. The fastest team to 80 victories was the 1999 squad (80-56).

Road Warriors: The Dodgers have won seven of their last eight road games and are a league-best 42-26 away from OKC this season. They have already set a new team record for most road victories in a season, previously set in 2004 (40-32). The Dodgers' 42 road wins this season are tied for second most in all of the Minors, trailing only High-A Visalia (43-21).

Mound Men: The Dodgers have held their opponent to two or fewer runs in 11 of the last 16 games. During the 16-game stretch, the Dodgers pitching staff has surrendered just 41 runs (2.45 ERA - 41 ER/150.1 IP). Opponents are batting .214 (114x532) with seven home runs and have gone 22-for-104 (.212) with RISP...Over the last 17 games, Dodgers starting pitchers have combined for a 2.30 ERA (25 ER/98.0 IP) with 11 quality starts. They've held opponents to a .198 average (68x344) -- including 12-for-67 (.179) with RISP.

Little Big Seag: Corey Seager has gone deep twice in the past three games, and three times in the past five games. He has collected seven RBI over the first three games of this series and eight RBI over the last five games. His 17 RBI this month paces the team...Seager has five extra-base hits over his last five games. His previous five extra-base hits occurred over a span of 24 games.

Barnes Burner: Austin Barnes is 11-for-23 (.478) over his last six games with a home run, three RBI, four runs scored, and five walks against two strikeouts. Barnes is batting .356 in August and has posted a .415 on-base percentage this month.

Whiff City: The OKC pitching staff recorded 11 strikeouts last night, and at one point between the fifth and eighth innings, they recorded nine outs all on strikeouts. The Dodgers have racked up 116 strikeouts over the past 13 games (123.1 IP). They have accumulated 195 strikeouts this month to rank second in the PCL (Fresno - 206). The team's strikeout-to-walk ratio has markedly improved this month, jumping from 1.7 in July (159 K/95 BB) to 2.8 in August (195 K/70 BB).
