Red Stars Announce Game Worn Jersey Auction September 6

The Chicago Red Stars announced today that the team will be hosting a silent auction on September 6, 2015. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on game-worn autographed jerseys during the final regular season home game against the Houston Dash. Game begins at 4 p.m. CT, while bidding will begin at 2 p.m. when gates open.

The jerseys being auctioned are the Red Stars' alternative kit that features an all-black design with the white and light blue stripes of the Chicago flag and four, six-pointed red stars across the chest. The goalkeepers' jerseys will be in purple. Jerseys bid on will be the actual jerseys worn in the game on September 6th. Pictures of the jerseys can be found at http://www.redstarsgear.com/jerseys. A roster of the current players whose jerseys are up for auction can be found at http://chicagoredstars.com/roster.

Fans will also be able to participate online by sending their maximum bid amount, along with the player's jersey they are bidding on to cmehaffie@chicagoredstars.com. Participants can begin bidding online today at the starting price of $75. Online entries must be received by September 3rd at 5 p.m. CT to be eligible.

On the day of the game the auction will begin when the gates open at 2 p.m. and will end at the 70 minute mark of the match. Fans who bid at the game must pay immediately following the match to receive their jersey. Online participants will be contacted on September 6th if they have won a jersey. Cash, check, and credit cards are all acceptable forms of payment. Credit card payments are preferred for online winners.

Proceeds of the silent auction will be split between local non-profit group Gonzo Soccer, which provides soccer and leadership to young girls ages 7-15 in Chicago, as well as locations in Mexico and Colombia, and to the Red Stars Charitable Tickets initiative which provides tickets to other local non-profit groups such as TOPsoccer, America Scores and Urban Initiatives. Thanks to these events and individual donations this season, the Red Stars have been able to provide tickets to a variety of organizations and support the community.

Red Stars vs. Houston Dash, presented by Illinois Women's Soccer League for Fan Appreciation Night, will take place at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois. The World Cup will be on display from the time gates open until kickoff. First 2,500 fans will receive either a sling-pack, rally towel, or Red Stars trading cards, courtesy of Illinois Women's Soccer League. Each fan will also receive a raffle ticket upon entry and may select from over 20 raffle prizes to try and win, including signed items from the Chicago Sky, Bears, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Fire, local museums, and other sports memorabilia.
