Hawks Can Canadians 12-8

Vancouver, British Columbia - The Hawks jumped out to a seven run lead before the Canadians came storming back but Boise's bullpen held on and the Hawks grabbed the 11-8 victory.

Trailing 2-1 in the top of the second inning, the Hawks put up a four spot that was capped off by a Marcos Derkes two-run single that gave the Hawks a 5-2 lead.

The Canadians responded with an RBI double from Justin Atkinson before the Hawks broke the game open and put up five runs in third inning.

With the bases loaded, Nate Causey slapped a two-run single that was followed by a two-run double off the bat of Wilkyns Jimenez and the Hawks took a six run lead. Derkes added an RBI single and the Hawks took a commanding 10-3 lead.

It was short lived as the Canadians came roaring back, scoring five runs of their own in the fourth inning, aided by two wild pitches, and a bases loaded walk before Connor Panas smacked a two-run single that pulled the score to 10-8.

Jimenez connected on a solo home run in the fifth inning and Brian Mundell added an RBI single in the eighth as the Hawks bullpen held steady and gave the Hawks a 12-8 victory.

The Hawks (11-16) and the Canadians (13-13) will meet again tomorrow night for game four of this five game series. First pitch is set for 8:05 p.m.

Notes: The Hawks tied a season-high with five errors... The Hawks also tied a season high with five runs in an inning... Wilkyns Jimenez went 2 for 4 with three RBI's and three runs scored... Jensen Park hit two doubles... Every Hawks hitter recorded at least one hit and six hitters had multi-hit games.
