Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release
Pawtucket, R.I. - The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) suffered a rare shutout defeat with a 2-0 blanking at the hands of the Pawtucket Red Sox (Boston Red Sox) on Tuesday night. SWB (73-57) has lost a season-worst four straight road games while Pawtucket (51-80) has won back-to-back home games for the first time since June 27-28.
The RailRiders put their leadoff man on base in the first, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings, but went 0-for-10 with men in scoring position and bounced into a pair of double plays.
The game's only runs crossed in the home fourth. Brady Lail (2-2) walked Sandy Leon and Allen Craig before allowing run-scoring hits to Chris Marrero and Humberto Quintero.
