Bees Rattled by Wisconsin, Lose 6-3

(Appleton-WI) The Burlington Bees (55-71) lost game two of a three game series, 6-3 to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (44-82) on Tuesday afternoon at Neuroscience Group Field.
With one out in the bottom of the second inning, David Denson reached with a walk and moved to third on a single by Sthervin Matos, scoring on a throwing error on David Fletcher, giving the Timber Rattlers a 1-0 lead. Mitch Meyer made it 2-0, scoring Matos with a sacrifice fly.
Trever Allen kicked off the top of the third inning with a a triple, scoring on a Brandon Gildea sacrifice fly, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Tim Arakawa started the top of the fourth inning with a single and moved to second base on a Taylor Ward single. Zach Houchins hit a ground ball to first that was thrown away, allowing Arakawa to score, tying the game at two. The Bees took their only lead of the game on a balk, scoring Zach Houchins, making the score 3-2.
Luis Aviles gave the Timber Rattlers to lead back in the fourth inning, smashing a two run double, scoring both David Denson and Mitch Meyer, putting Wisconsin on top 4-3. Wisconsin added another run in the sixth inning on a Sthervin Matos sacrifice fly, scoring Jake Gatewood, pushing the lead to 5-3. Wisconsin added a finale insurance run in the eighth inning on a Luis Aviles single as the Timber Rattlers went on to win, 6-3.
Wisconsin reliever Luis Ortega (2-7) earned the win while Michael Bolaski (9-10) was charged with the loss and Luke Curtis (6) picked up the save. The Bees and the Timber Rattlers conclude their series Wednesday night at 7:00 when Keynan Middleton faces off against David Burkhalter.
