August 25, 2015 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release
Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Senators and PennLive and The Patriot News are thrilled to announce that the Red Land Little League team currently playing in the Little League World Series will be honored prior to the Senators game on Sunday, September 6 against the Akron RubberDucks. The Senators are teaming up with PennLive and The Patriot News to make it a special day for both the Red Land Little League and the fans attending the game. Currently Red Land is 2-0 in the Little League World Series in Williamsport and needs to win just three more games, without losing, to win the Little League World Series.
Red Land will be at Metro Bank Park early enough to take batting practice and show off their power strokes on the big diamond. Red Land manager Tom Peifer will throw out a ceremonial first pitch and then each Red Land player will be announced and they'll take the field with the Senators. The coaches and team will be signing pictures provided by PennLive and The Patriot News beginning at 1:30 p.m. on the boardwalk.
"It's been so much fun watching these kids play," said Senators President Kevin Kulp. "We can't wait to have them to the ballpark on the 6th to show them just how proud of them we all are."
Red Land is coming off a thrilling walk-off win over South Carolina on Sunday night and next play on Wednesday against Texas. Red Land and the team from Texas are the final two U.S. teams that are unbeaten.
The Senators are encouraging fans to purchase tickets through the Senators website for Sunday, September 6th. For every ticket purchased through that code, $3 of the $11 ticket will benefit Red Land Little League and $1 will benefit VS Cancer, a childhood cancer charity which Red Land chose to support during their Little League World Series play.
The Senators box office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available via telephone during the same hours as the box office hours. Tickets are also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, online at www.senatorsbaseball.com.
