Appalachian League Announces 2015 All-Star Team

KINGSPORT, TN. - The Appalachian League announced its 2015 All-Star team today.

Kingsport Mets catcher, Patrick Mazeika and outfielder, Kevin Kaczmarski, were selected to the All-Star team.

Mazeika, the Mets 8th round draft pick this year from Stetson University is currently leading the Appalachian League in hitting with a .360 average and doubles with 27. He is also first in extra-base hits (32) and on-base percentage (.452), and second in slugging percentage (.559). Mazeika is from Wilbraham, Massachusetts.

Kaczmarski, the Mets 9th round draft in this year's draft, is currently second in the league in hitting with a .353 average and also has 13 doubles and 18 stolen bases. He played baseball at Evansville University and currently resides in Cary, Illinois.

The Pulaski Yankees led the way with four selections to the all-star team including first year Manager, Tony Franklin. Bristol first baseman, Carlos Munoz was named Appy League Player of the Year and Elizabethton, pitcher, Dereck Rodriguez was named Appy League Pitcher of the Year.

Players and manager are selected by the Managers and the media.
