Vancouver Canadians News Release

(Avista Stadium - Spokane, WA) - The Vancouver Canadians came out of the gate swinging at nearly everything in site, scoring seven runs in the first inning, en route to an 11-3 victory over the Spokane Indians out at Avista Stadium on Saturday night.

Connor Panas finally got the proverbial 'monkey off his back' with two solo home runs for his first and second home runs of the season.

CF Andrew Guillotte led off the game with a triple, his first of the season and came around to score the first run of the game just moments later, setting the tone for Canadian batters for the night.

The Canadians went on to score runs in five separate innings recording 13 hits.

Canadians starter LHP Tayler Saucedo was near flawless through 6.0 innings. He picked up his third win as a Canadian striking out a season-high seven batters without issuing a single walk, and allowing just three hits. Saucedo improved to 2-0 vs. Spokane and has gone 12 scoreless against the Indians.

Spokane's starter RHP Nick Green pitched just 1/3 of an inning and was charged with six runs before being replaced by RHP Blake Bass.

With the win, Vancouver improves to 12-11 (.522) on the second half of the Northwest League season.

The Canadians now head home to host Boise in the first of five games, an A&W Family Fun Sunday, first pitch at 5:05PM. RHP Francisco Rios is scheduled to make his tenth start of the season.

Vancouver will return to Spokane for the two teams final series of the season on August 28 - 30. Friday night's game was postponed due to air quality concerns with heavy smoke from nearby wildfires. It has been rescheduled for August 28 when the Canadians and Indians will play a double-header.
