Osuna Drives in Six as Curve Win Wild Walkfest

BOWIE, Md. - Jose Osuna drove in a career-high six runs as the Altoona Curve won their third straight, defeating the Bowie Baysox, 12-8, at Prince George's Stadium. Adam Frazier had four hits for the Curve in a game that saw 19 combined walks.

With the win, the Curve (67-59) moved into sole possession of second place in the division, 4.5 games behind the first-place Baysox (71-54).

Osuna put the Curve on the board in the first inning with a two-run homer to right field off of Baysox stater Gene Escat (Loss, 1-5). He followed with a two-run single in the third to give the Curve a 4-0 lead.

A two-run double by Erich Weiss pushed the Altoona lead to 6-1 in the fifth. In the sixth, Stetson Allie scored on a wild pitch and Osuna plated a run with a sacrifice fly.

The Curve extended the lead to 10-1 in the eighth with an RBI single by Adam Frazier and a run-scoring groundout by Osuna.

After the Baysox erupted for five runs in the eighth aided by five Curve walks, Andy Vasquez hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to put the Curve ahead, 10-6.

Curve starter Jason Creasy (10-7) allowed one run over five innings, striking out three.

Frazier reached base six times, finishing 4-for-4 with two walks and an RBI while scoring three runs.

It was the longest nine-inning game of the season for the Curve, finishing in three hours an 32 minutes.

The Curve look to sweep the Baysox on Sunday afternoon at Prince George's Stadium. Right-hander Chad Kuhl (9-4, 4.55) takes the mound for Altoona, countered by Bowie right-hander Joe Gunkel (7-2, 2.54). First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m.
