Toledo, OH - Forwards Kyle Bonis and Shane Berschbach (BERSCH-back) have agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2015-16 season.

Bonis returns after setting a single season Walleye record with 36 goals in 2014-15. He collected a total of 61 goals over two seasons in the ECHL counting the 25 he scored with Florida in 2013-14.

The 26-year-old finished last year with 59 points (36G, 23A) and a plus 14. His eight-game winning goals was also a single season Walleye record with 11 of his 36 goals during the regular season coming on the power play. In April, Bonis shared the ECHL Plus Performer Award with teammate Cody Lampl as each posted a plus 9 in the month.

"Kyle has proven himself as one of the elite goal scorers in the league," Head Coach Derek Lalonde said. "His desire to return to Toledo says a lot about him as a person -- that he seeks not only individual but also team goals."

Bonis added nine more goals to his totals during the 2015 Kelly Cup Playoffs, including an overtime shorthanded goal in game seven of the Division Semi-Finals to allow Toledo to advance. That went along with his team-best two shorthanded goals in the regular season. The Lindsay, Ontario native finished the postseason with 15 points (9G, 6A) in 21 contests.

Berschbach, a native of Royal Oak, Michigan, spent the majority of last season in Toledo setting a new single season Walleye record with 48 assists. He also added 15 goals for a total of 63 points in 65 games during the 2014-15 season, which was second on the team in scoring. In 21 playoff contests, Berschbach led the Walleye in scoring with 25 points (8G, 17A). He also appeared in five games with Grand Rapids in the AHL with no points.

"Coming off of his AHL contract and the success he had last year, Shane had many options," said Head Coach Derek Lalonde. "He chose Toledo to continue not only his individual path but the successful path of the Walleye. He has the ability to be one of the top skill players in this league."

The 24-year-old spent four years at Western Michigan University prior to turning professional. As a Bronco, Berschbach posted 39 goals and 78 assists as was a plus 27 in 146 games. He set career highs as a senior with 16 goals, 22 assists and 38 points. In 2012, the 5'10", 165-pound forward helped Western Michigan to a CCHA Tournament Championship.

Game plans and single-game tickets are on sale now for the 2015-16 season. Opening night is November 7 against Adirondack. To order tickets or for more information call 419-725-WALL or visit www.toledowalleye.com.
