Reilly Webb Commits to Hamilton Bulldogs

HAMILTON, ONT. - Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager and Head Coach George Burnett announced today that second-round pick Reilly Webb and his family have committed to the Bulldogs.

Webb was selected 33rd overall following a great season with the Toronto Titans minor midget club posting 20 points in 32 games regular season games, "I'm just really excited to commit to the Bulldogs and can't wait to get started. My dream of playing in the OHL has come true and I couldn't be happier."

Coach Burnett is thrilled to have the 6-3, 190 pound defenceman on board, "Reilly brings excellent size, mobility, and physicality to our group. He has the ability to move and shoot the puck very effectively. We look forward to him contributing to our program this season."

The Stoney Creek native took part in the Hockey Canada Under-17 development camp this summer, netting one goal and one assist in three games. Coach Burnett adds, "It is terrific that we are able to add a talented local player to our lineup. Playing in front of family and friends each night will be exciting for Reilly and his family, but also challenging. I know he is prepared to do the work required to succeed in our program."

Webb will be joining the team for training camp which opens September 1st, "I'm just going to work as hard as I possibly can and take care of the things within my control. I look forward to seeing what I can do."

Hamilton begins the regular season September 25th as they take on the Knights in London. The home opener is set for September 26th against Oshawa.
