Tacoma Rainiers News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Tacoma Rainiers earned a four-game series split with the Oklahoma City Dodgers after securing a 3-2 win at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark on Tuesday night.

After falling behind 1-0 in the bottom of the third inning, the Rainiers rebounded to tie the game in the top of the fifth. Steve Baron grounded out to second base, clearing the way for Leury Bonilla to make his way home from third and lock the score at 1-1.

A pair of go-ahead runs arrived in the sixth, beginning with an RBI single from Justin Ruggiano that put Tacoma up 2-1. Jabari Blash added an insurance run with a ground out that plated Stefen Romero.

Roenis Elias (4-2) dominated the Dodgers from the mound, allowing just two runs on six hits through 7.0 innings. The left-hander fanned seven and walked one in his 12th start with the Rainiers this season. Reliever Tony Zych picked up his third save with Tacoma of 2015 after tossing a perfect inning of work in the ninth.

The Rainiers (58-66) begin the second leg of an eight-game road trip when they open a four-game series at Colorado Springs tomorrow, August 19. Right-hander Adrian Sampson (1-2, 4.95) is scheduled to start for Tacoma. The Sky Sox are slated to start left-hander Brent Suter (1-0, 2.38). First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 p.m.
