Alaska Aces Announce Pair of Trades

ANCHORAGE, AK- The Alaska Aces have traded a pair of defensemen in separate transactions, head coach Rob Murray announced today.

Corey Syvret is on his way to the Florida Everblades. Heading to Alaska is defenseman Gleason Fournier.

Syvret, 26, has played with the Aces for most of three seasons, scoring 9 goals and adding 43 assists for 53 points. In 31 playoff games, he furnished 10 assists.

"Syvret was a solid player for us," said Murray. "Very mobile with a great shot".

Fournier, 23, split last season between ECHL teams Orlando and Florida. Combined, he scored 6 goals and dished out 21 assists for 27 points including playoffs.

The other transaction sends Brad Richard to Elmira for forward Brodie Reid.

Richard, 26, played most of last season with Alaska, scoring 8 goals, adding 5 assists for 13 points in 24 games. He also spent time with the Iowa Wild of the AHL, playing in 12 games.

"Richard played much bigger than his size", said Murray. "He was tenacious".

Reid, 25, played in just 9 games for Elmira last season, then skated in the AHL for St. John's, Adirondack and Rochester. The Delta, BC native appeared in 31 games for Rochester, with 6 goals and 4 assists for 10 points.
