The Sharks drew first blood in the top of the second inning. Sam Foy hit the scoreboard in right field with a one-out home run to give Wilmington a 1-0 lead.

The Sharks added three more runs in the fourth inning, but the Steamers responded in the bottom half. Evan Rogers led off the frame with a single before Julian Russell and Mick Fennell loaded the bases with a walk and single, respectively. After Chad Sedio and Tony Rosselli each struck out, Nick Maguire tied the game with one swing, launching a grand slam to right-center.

Wilmington took a two-run advantage into the ninth with solo shots from Hayes Nelson in the sixth and Foy in the seventh, but the Teal and Black stormed back. Russell started the bottom of the eighth with a walk, and Fennell singled to put runners on first and second. Sedio came through with a double in the next at bat to plate Russell and put runners on second and third. Two batters later, Maguire gave the Clams their first lead with a one-out double, putting Edenton up 7-6.

The Sharks attempted a rally in the ninth, but Zarosky held the tying run at third to finish the game and send the Steamers to the Petitt Cup Championship.

The Edenton Steamers travel to Gastonia to face off against the Grizzlies in game one of the Petitt Cup Championship series on Thursday.
