Keith Toston Added to Practice Roster

The Calgary Stampeders have added international running back Keith Toston to the practice roster.

Toston originally signed with Calgary on Feb. 24 and attended training camp with the Stampeders, carrying the ball 12 times for 64 yards and making three catches for 16 yards in two pre-season games.

The 28-year-old Angleton, Tex., native appeared in one regular-season game for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2014 - an Oct. 24 contest at Calgary - and carried the ball six times for 72 yards. He averaged 12 yards per carry and his longest run was 41 yards. He added two catches for six yards.

Toston has 21 games of National Football League experience with the St. Louis Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars and accumulated 36 carries for 128 yards and five receptions for 70 yards.

Toston played four seasons (2006-09) at Oklahoma State and was voted first-team all-Big 12 in his senior season after rushing for 1,230 yards and 11 touchdowns. Toston also had 25 catches for 261 yards and a major as well as a one-yard passing touchdown. In 2008, he led the Cowboys with a 6.7-yard average per carry and scored 11 touchdowns. For his career, Toston accumulated 2,769 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns as well as 51 receptions for 507 yards and three scores.

In other roster moves, the Stampeders have released international offensive lineman Andre Ramsey and national linebacker Christopher Johnson from the practice roster.
