Dylan Wells and Team Canada Start U18 Tournament on Monday against Czech Republic

(Breclav, CZE)- Petes goaltender Dylan Wells and Canada's National Men's Under-18 team are set to compete at the 2015 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka U18 tournament in Slovakia and the Czech Republic from August 10 to 15, 2015.

Team Canada is scheduled to play in three preliminary games, starting on Monday, August 10 at 1pm EDT against the host Czech Republic. They play again on Tuesday, August 11 against Sweden at 9:30am EDT, and will wrap up the preliminary round against Switzerland at 9:30am EDT on Wednesday, August 12. All teams will have Thursday off before the medal round kicks off on Friday.

In one pre-tournament game, Wells (PBO, 21st overall, 2014) allowed one goal in a 12-1 win against Slovakia. The St. Catharines native put in a strong showing at the U18 Selection Camp, seeing 92:02 of ice time and stopping 31 of 33 shots for a .939 save percentage and a goals against average of 1.30. The 6'2", 187lbs keeper will suit up in his second season with the Petes this fall, after a good rookie campaign in 2014/15.

Petes assistant coach Andrew Verner is serving as Goaltending Consultant for Hockey Canada and is in Slovakia and the Czech Republic for the tournament.
