Pennsylvania Rebellion News Release

WASHINGTON, PA- August 9, 2015 - The Pennsylvania Rebellion fell to the visiting Akron Racers by a final score of 2-0 on Sunday, August 9. Rebellion starter Dallas Escobedo carried a two-hit shutout into the sixth inning, but suffered loss. Lisa Norris took the win.

Both Escobedo and Norris showed prowess in the circle throughout the game, continually pitching scoreless innings. PA looked to take an early lead in the first with a bases loaded situation, but Norris was able to stall the Rebellion offense to come out unscathed. Escobedo allowed just three base runners through five innings and finished her complete-game performance allowing two runs on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts.

Akron inched ahead of Pennsylvania in the top of the sixth inning when third baseman Kelley Montalvo punched a single to left-center scoring right fielder Ayumi Karino and designated player Nerissa Myers for the 2-0 lead.

The Rebellion broke up Norris' no-hit bid in the bottom of the sixth when right fielder Alexa Peterson collected an infield single. The lone hit was not enough to start a rally, however, and PA was held scoreless in their final at bats for Akron's 22nd victory of the season.

The Rebellion and Racers will take their series back to Akron on Monday, August 10. First pitch from the last series of the 2015 regular season is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. from Firestone Stadium.
