Brazos Valley Bombers News Release

Bryan-College Station, TX (August 8, 2015) - After finishing the regular-season with a TCL-best 42-9 record, the Brazos Valley Bombers were faced with a one-game winner-take-all playoff against the East Texas Pump Jacks for a spot in the TCL Championship Series. The Bombers' adopted a playoff motto of 'All In' for this postseason and they certainly lived by it on Saturday night.

2015 TCL Home Run Derby Champion Tyler Lawrence hit a two-run home run in the 3rd inning to put the Bombers on the board and give Ethan Landon the run support needed to give the Bombers the victory.

Landon, the league ERA champion and a Michigan State Spartan, pitched a gem for the Bombers, only allowing 2 walks and striking out 6 Pump Jacks hitters in his historic effort. Landon's no-no is the first no-hitter in TCL Playoff history and the first nine-inning no-hitter in Bomber history.

In addition to the playoff, Saturday was also Kids Free Saturday with free admission for children 13 and under thanks to Chicken Express.

On Sunday, the Bombers will travel to Lafayette, Louisiana to take on the Acadiana Cane Cutters in the first game of the TCL Championship Series. Game 2 will take place on Monday night at Cellucor Field and if a third game is necessary, that game would also take place at Cellucor Field. First pitch for all three games is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
