2015 Team Could be Winningest in Franchise History
August 7, 2015 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis.- 41 wins this season for the Bullfrogs is the third most all-time in the club's nine year history.
This year's total is only behind the 2007 team that won 43 games in the franchise's inaugural season.
Three games remain on the regular season schedule to give the Bullfrogs a chance to tie and/or break the record.
In 2007, the Bullfrogs won the first half and became the first expansion team to make the playoffs in their first year in existence in 14 years.
Green Bay hosted the Eau Claire Express and won the first game at Joannes Stadium, but lost the next two finishing with a record of 43-25.
Daniel Robertson, an outfielder now with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, was a major part of the 2007 Bullfrogs' success. He was both a post-season NWL all-star and CO-MVP of the league.
The last time the Bullfrogs made the playoffs was in 2011, a season in which Jordan Bischel's club finished at 42-27. They did not win a playoff game, and in a three-game series lost the first two to Donnie Scott's Battle Creek Bombers, the eventual NWL champions.
Green Bay plays the Loggers tonight at 7:05PM and then open up a weekend road series against Big Top Baseball's Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.
