Colorado Eagles News Release
WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles announced Thursday that they have signed defenseman Channing Boe for the 2015-16 season. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound blueliner spent the past two seasons with the Utah Grizzlies, collecting 19 points in 99 games and posting a combined plus/minus rating of plus-10. Boe served as the Grizzlies team captain last season, after being named an alternate captain in 2013-14. He also saw action in 124 games with the Las Vegas Wranglers from 2011 to 2013, where he notched seven goals and 23 assists, to go along with 164 penalty minutes.
"I'm really excited to come to Colorado," said Boe. "I've played there as an opponent for the last four years and it's always a fun trip and a beautiful place to stay. The fans are second-to-none, the building is always rocking, when they start the third period you can't even hear yourself think. Plus, the style that they play, that hard-nosed hockey is going to be a good fit for me. I'm excited to get the season going."
The Bemidji, Minnesota native spent four seasons at the NCAA level with Minnesota State University, Mankato, collecting 25 points and 156 penalty minutes in 131 games with the Mavericks. He would then begin his professional career appearing in eight games with the Wheeling Nailers at the end of the 2010-11 season.
"Channing is a very solid, shutdown defenseman who will bring poise and leadership to the ice," said Eagles head coach and general manager Chris Stewart. "From facing him as an opponent for the last several years, he is definitely a guy that you can put out against the opposition's top line and do so with confidence."
Season tickets for the 2015-16 season are on-sale now and can be reserved with a $50 deposit per seat by calling the Eagles ticket office at 970-686-SHOT (7468). The 2015-16 regular season home schedule kicks off on Friday, October 16th when the Eagles host the Utah Grizzlies. A complete schedule can be found at www.ColoradoEagles.com.
