LAST TIME OUT: LeVON WASHINGTON'S grand slam in the top of the eighth inning propelled Lynchburg to an 8-3 victory over Winston-Salem on Sunday afternoon at BB&T Ballpark...Lynchburg scored in the first inning when PAUL HENDRIX drove a single that scored YHOXIAN MEDINA, who led off the game with a base hit, to give the Hillcats a 1-0 lead...In the bottom of the third, Winston-Salem tied the game on a solo home run by EDDY ALVAREZ, but Lynchburg took the lead back in the top of the fourth...ERIC HAASE led off the frame with a double and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by CLAUDIO BAUTISTA...IVAN CASTILLO then lifted a ball into center field that scored HAASE from third to give the Hillcats a 2-1 lead...In the bottom of the fifth, NOLAN EARLEY recorded his second home run of the year on a solo shot that landed on the pedestrian bridge in right field to tie the game at two...The Dash took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh when JEREMY DOWDY scored on a fielding error by CASTILLO... Trailing 3-2 in the top of the eighth, PAUL HENDRIX reached on an error, MIKE PAPI walked, and ERIC HAASE singled to load the bases...With two outs on the board, YHOXIAN MEDINA was hit by a pitch that scored HENDRIX from third and gave the Hillcats the tying run...With the bases still loaded, WASHINGTON smacked a grand slam into the right field seats for his second home run in as many nights to give the Hillcats a 7-3 lead... On the very next pitch, CLINT FRAZIER recorded his 12th home run of the year with a laser over the left field wall that extended the lead to 8-3... ANTONIO ROMERO entered the game in the bottom of the eighth and allowed just one hit to finish off the contest with two scoreless innings...LUIS LUGO earned another no-decision after turning in a quality start with 6 2/3 innings while allowing just two earned runs and striking out five.

VS. POTOMAC: Lynchburg is 8-10 overall against the Potomac Nationals this season, but are just 2-5 against them at home at City Stadium...The last time the two squads met, Lynchburg took the series opener, but lost the final two games on the road at Pfitzner Stadium...Each game was decided by just one run...The overall series between these two teams in 2015 has been remarkably competitive...Over the course of 18 games, 13 of them have been decided by two runs or less and the average margin in each game has been a mere 2.3 runs per contest...As a team this season, Lynchburg is hitting just .262 at the plate, but against Potomac, that number sits at just .236...PAUL HENDRIX leads the team with a .288 batting average against the red, white and blue with a minimum of five games played...In 16 games, HENDRIX has recorded a lone home run with an RBI and has 15 hits in 16 games.

CRACK OF THE BAT: Lynchburg racked up yet another double-digit hit night at the plate with 11 hits in an 8-3 win over Winston-Salem...The Hillcats have recorded double-digit hits in four of their last 5 games and six of their last 10...The Hillcats have a 5-1 record in those contests with the lone loss coming on July 31 in the series opener against Winston-Salem...On the season, Lynchburg has recorded 10 or more hits in 43 of 108 games and holds a 31-12 record when reaching the 10-hit mark...In the Carolina League, the Hillcats lead the circuit with 928 hits (Frederick, 925).

TAKE IT TO THE WASH: Outfielder LeVON WASHINGTON went absolutely insane in the final two games of the series against the Winston-Salem Dash...In the final two games of the series, WASHINGTON went a combined 6-for-8 (.750) with two home runs and eight RBIs...WASHINGTON hit his first two home runs of the season and one went for a grand slam that helped the Hillcats pull away late for an 8-3 win...This season, WASHINGTON has appeared in 23 games for the Hillcats and has recorded 21 RBIs during that span.

EVEN STRENGTH: With an 8-3 win over Winston-Salem on Sunday afternoon, the Hillcats moved back to an even .500 on the season, bringing their record back to 54-54...The even record marks the first time the Hillcats have been at .500 since the team was 2-2 to start the season...The last time the Hillcats finished above .500 was in 2012 when they finished with a 72-68 record when they won the Carolina League title for the seventh time in franchise history...The Hillcats also currently lead the Northern Divison of the Carolina League by two games over the Frederick Keys...The lead is the largest by the Hillcats this season.

DORSSYS HAS THE DRIVE: Outfielder DORSSYS PAULINO went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored and came just a home run shy of the cycle in the series opener against the Dash...PAULINO was called up from Lake County on July 15 to fill the spot vacated by BRADLEY ZIMMER who was called up to Double-A Akron and although he doesn't have the same power numbers, PAULINO has been a valuable asset to the lineup... PAULINO has recorded an RBI in 10 of his last 13 contests and has driven in 13 total RBIs in just 19 games with the Hillcats...To add to his impressive numbers at the plate, PAULINO has only committed one error in 143 2/3 innings as an outfielder for the Hillcats...PAULINO'S efforts over the last week earned him Carolina League Player of the Week, giving the Hillcats three straight Carolina League nods...IVAN CASTILLO and CLINT FRAZIER have been honored by the league the last two weeks.

FRAZIER EARNS MONTHLY HONOR: Outfielder CLINT FRAZIER hit the cover off the ball in the month of July and his success earned him the Indians Minor League Player of the Month award... FRAZIER hit .363 (37-for-102) with seven doubles, two triples, three home runs and 17 RBI across 28 games played in July...He also drew 16 walks, stole six bases and scored 21 runs...The Loganville, Ga., native ranked among Carolina League-leaders during July in average (1st, .363), hits (1st, 37), on-base percentage (2nd, 442), extra-base hits (T3rd, 12), runs (3rd, 21), walks (4th, 16) and RBI (T5th, 17)...FRAZIER tallied an 11-game hit streak from July 12-22 and reached base safely via a hit or walk in 27 of 28 games played...FRAZIER ranks among league leaders in hits (2nd, 108), runs (2nd, 67), home runs (T2nd, 12), walks (3rd, 52), on-base percentage (4th, .371) and RBIs (4th, 56).

TRADE DEADLINE BRINGS NEW FACES: The Cleveland Indians made their fair share of moves as the July 31 trade deadline approached...The Indians made a pair of trades that brought two left-handed starting pitchers to the Hillcats...LUIS LUGO was the only southpaw on the entire pitching staff before the Indians traded for JAYSON AQUINO and ROB KAMINSKY...AQUINO was acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates for cash considerations and is now with his third team in as many months...AQUINO started the season with the Toronto Blue Jays and was traded to Pittsburgh in May before again being dealt on July 30 to the Indians...KAMINSKY was a first round draft pick in 2013 and was the No. 2 prospect in the St. Louis Cardinals organization and was traded to the Indians for Tribe outfielder BRANDON MOSS...KAMINSKY is now the No. 3 prospect in the Indians System...This season, KAMINSKY posted a 6-5 record and a 2.09 ERA in 16 starts for the Palm Beach Cardinals in the Florida State League.
