The Blues are just a week away from the most exciting time of the season. The postseason has sprung upon us and the Blues are in a good position entering into the final days. Before the Blues can focus on the playoffs, they first must turn their attention to ending the season strong, including the last game on August 9.
On August 9 the Bristol Blues will host the last regular season game as the Worcester Bravehearts come to Muzzy Field. The game, originally scheduled for 6pm, was recently changed to 7:30pm to plan for a fireworks show to follow the final game. Along with fireworks, the August 9 game will also be the last dollar hot dog night of the season.
The Blues 50/50 raffle on August 9 will go towards the Adam Kennan Sportsmanship and Scholarship Award presented by the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. Adam was a past FCBL player who passed away suddenly on June 6, 2011. Adam was an exceptional individual that exemplified an unbridled enthusiasm and passion for baseball and his legacy will live on in the Sportsmanship and Scholarship Award.
Following the game on Sunday, August 9, the Blues look to begin their run at the FCBL championship. The first round of the playoffs will be a single elimination game hosted by the four highest seeds in the league. The Blues have the potential to be the second seed in the league and host the first round game on August 11. Be sure to stay up to date on everything Bristol Blues and to come out to Muzzy Field and root on your "Boys in Blue."
