Springdale, AR - The Arkansas Travelers came from behind to win 4-2 over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Monday night at Arvest Ballpark.
Trailing 2-0 in the fourth, DH Michael Snyder blasted his third home run in his last five starts to tie the game 2-2.
Arkansas added runs in the seventh and eighth innings on two-out RBI singles from CF Chad Hinshaw and RF Cal Towey to take and extend the lead.
RHP Michael Brady (W, 6-5) surrendered two runs in the second inning on back-to-back triples and an RBI groundout, but settled in nicely from there. Brady tossed a career-high seven frames and allowed the two runs on six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.
RHP Kyle Winkler worked a scoreless eighth for the Travs and RHP Danny Reynolds (S, 8) earned the save. Reynolds has not allowed a run over his last nine outings (9.1 IP).
Every Travs starter reached base in the win.
Towey (16), Hinshaw (14), C Raywilly Gomez (12) and 3B Brian Hernandez (11) each extended their double digit consecutive games on-base streaks.
Towey (8) and 2B Sherman Johnson (18) both successfully stole second base for Arkansas. The Travs are 13-for-13 in stolen bases in their last seven games.
Snyder finished 2-for-3 with the home run and a walk and Hernandez went 2-for-5 with a run scored.
Arkansas improved to 6-1 against Northwest Arkansas over the last seven meetings.
The Travelers are 16-2 on the road with Hinshaw in the lineup this season.
With the win, Arkansas tied its high water mark for games above .500 with a record of 58-49. At 22-16 in the second half, the Travs maintained a two game lead over the Springfield Cardinals in the Texas League North second half standings.
Game two of the three-game series in scheduled for Tuesday with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
