Knights Run Away with Game Two

Walla Walla, Wa- The Sweets dropped game two to the Knights by a score of 7-4. The Knights improved to 27-20 and stayed 1.5 games up on the wild-card as the Sweets dropped to 21-25.
The scoring was started early by the Knights as they put two up in the first, added two more in the third and tacked on a run in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead. The Sweets would attempt a come back with two runs in the fifth. The frame was started with walks to Dylan Wilbert and Clayton Ayers before Alex McKenna lined an RBI ground-rule double into right-center. That made it 5-1 and with Ayers on third, Kyle Nixon hit an RBI ground-out to the shortstop that scored a run.
The Knights added a run in the seventh, but the Sweets countered with two in the bottom half of the inning. Ayers and McKenna both singled with one out and were advanced to third and second respectively with Nixon up at the plate. He grounded out to first to score Ayers and then McKenna scored on a wild-pitch a batter later. That made the score 6-4 Knights.
Corvallis added a big run in the ninth to total the final score of 7-4.
The Knights stole 11 bases in the game, six of which came from Nick Madrigal. Madrigal also scored four runs and collected four hits.
These two teams will match-up for the final time this season tomorrow at 7:05pm. The Sweets will look to salvage a game in the series as they send Travis Ulvestad (2-1) to the hill. The Knights will counter with Alex Nesbitt (2-2).
