SALT LAKE CITY (Aug. 2) - The Salt Lake Bees fell to the Sacramento River Cats, 15-6, Sunday afternoon at Smith's Ballpark. The River Cats narrowly out-hit the Bees 14-13, but three homeruns and three Salt Lake errors allowed for a blow-out Sacramento victory. Fourteen runs were already on the board after three innings with Sacramento holding an 8-6 edge. The two teams stayed quiet until the River Cats scored again in the sixth and exploded for six additional runs off four hits in the seventh inning. The Bees went quietly in the final three innings, knocking just two hits, to secure the final score.

Adam Wilk (4-8) was roughed up and exited the game after two and one-third innings with eight runs, five of them earned, recorded on his final line. Kurt Spomer tossed a season-high three and two-thirds innings in which he allowed just one run, while eight of nine Bees batters recorded at least one base knock with four collecting multi-hit games. Jett Bandy led the charge with a three-for-four day and Kyle Kubitza added his sixth homer of the season with a solo shot in the third.

The Bees remain home until Sunday, Aug. 9 with the homestand featuring a team poster giveaway on Friday, Aug. 7. Daddy Daughter Date and Princess Night follows on Saturday, Aug. 8 with a postgame fireworks show. For more information or for tickets visit www.slbees.com.
