Swamp Bats Win Final Game 6-3 Against Schooners

The Swamp Bats played their season finale against the Mystic Schooners and went out with a bang winning 6-3 improving to 13-29.

Mystic would enter the game with the best ERA average in the NECBL at 2.62. However, the Swamp Bats would get it going offensively despite Mystic's imposing pitching staff.

Keene would get on the board early in the 1st inning off of an RBI single from Connor Foreman. The RBI would be Foreman's 12th on the season. The Bats' would be up 1-0.

The Schooners would respond in the top of the 5th inning when Jesse Berardi would step up to the plate and hit a two run blast down right-center field and would take the 2-1 lead.

In the bottom half of the 5th inning, Keene would score four runs including a two RBI single from Conor Fitzsimons. Keene would get another insurance run in the 6th inning off of a Chris Hardardt RBI single and would take a 6-2 lead. However, Mystic would not go down quietly. They would get an RBI double from Lou Iannotti in the 8th inning to cut it to 6-3.

The NECBL all-star Zach Willeman would close it out in 2.1 innings and strike out three. Mike Geannelis would get the start once again and toss five innings allowing two earned runs and striking out one.

The Mystic Schooners fall to 26-16 and will be in the playoffs. The Swamp Bats finished the season at 13-29, last in the Northern Division.
