Hillsboro Hops News Release

TONIGHT: The Hillsboro Hops look to snap a two-game losing streak at Tri-City. LHP Cody Reed (4-2, 2.85) will make his ninth start for the Hops, looking to rebound from a start which saw him allow seven runs on seven hits in an inning and two thirds against Salem-Keizer on Monday. He entered that game having allowed just one run over 24 innings in his previous four starts.

LAST NIGHT: After 111 games without being shut out --- dating back to 6/24/14 --- the Hops were blanked 9-0 at Tri-City. Hillsboro, the defending Northwest League champion, won the opener of the series between the two first-half pennant winners on Wednesday, 5-4. Since then the Hops have been outscored 19-3.

TONIGHT'S RADIO PREGAME SHOW BEGINS AT 6:45 ON RIP CITY RADIO 620AM AND www.RipCityRadio.com.

ROSTER MOVE: Outfielder Jake Peevyhouse, a 34th-rounder this year from Arizona State, has joined the Hops from Rookie-level Missoula. In 14 games with the Osprey, he hit .268 with no home runs, one double and six runs batted in. He was ASU's primary left fielder this season as a senior, hitting .287 with two home runs and six outfield assists. He attended the same high school as fellow Hops outfielder Gerard Hernandez, Pinnacle HS in Phoenix, but graduated three years earlier, in 2011.
