LAST GAME: The B-Mets fell, 6-1, against Richmond Friday night at The Diamond. Richmond jumped out in front with a four run first inning. Xorge Carrillo was responsible for the lone B-Met run, as well as two of Binghamton's six hits. Seth Lugo allowed more runs than his previous four starts combined, getting roughed up for six in less than six innings in the losing effort. The two teams have now split the first two games of the series.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Gabriel Ynoa is making his 19th start of the season and second against Richmond. Ynoa earned a no-decision in his first start against Richmond, allowing an earned run in seven innings. In two career starts against the Flying Squirrels, Ynoa has allowed one run in 14 total innings. Both starts have come at The Diamond, with both resulting in no-decisions for Ynoa. The righty has a 1.84 ERA in his last eight starts, but is coming off a loss in New Britain, where he allowed three runs in six innings.

RICHMOND STARTER: RHP Tyler Beede is making his ninth start with Richmond and the first of his career against Binghamton. The righty is coming off a loss, where he managed to get just one out while allowing five runs. He walked four of the six Erie batters he faced. Beede began the season with San Jose (High-A), where he posted a 2.24 ERA in nine starts. He was promoted to Richmond during the first week of June. Beede has a 5.11 ERA in four starts at The Diamond this season.

HOT AS SUMMER: Binghamton just wrapped up a 19 win July, positing the best record in the league for the month (19-10). It's the most B-Met wins in a single month since last June, when they went 19-9. Binghamton has not won 20 games in a month since going 20-5 in June, 2013. Binghamton led the league in team ERA for July (2.18), more than half run better than any other team. It was just the second time Binghamton has had a sub-3 ERA in their last 52 months. The B-Mets also ranked second with 22 July home runs, five behind Bowie (27).

NEW ERA: The B-Met bullpen's ERA is under 4.00 for the first time this season (3.95). Binghamton relievers worked to a 1.49 ERA in the month of July.

FIRST IMPRESSION: Friday was the first time Joe Benson failed to reach base in his first 18 games with the B-Mets.

WEST IS BEST: Binghamton is 22-23 against the Western Division, including 4-8 in their last 12 games. Meanwhile, the B-Mets are a division-best 36-24 against the East, going 15-4 in their last 19 games.

MAKING UP FOR LOST TIME: Jonathan Galvez is 8-for-16 with six RBI, since beginning his B-Met career 0-for-16. Galvez has three hits and multiple RBI in two of his last four games.

X MARKS THE SPOT: Friday was Xorge Carrillo's first multiple-hit game in exactly three weeks. Carrillo is batting .185 since May 22nd and has had more than two hits in a game since July 7, 2014.

MILESTONES: Brock Peterson has now hit 199 career home runs, while Josh Rodriguez sits at 97.

FIRST THINGS FIRST: Binghamton is 18-6 when scoring in the first inning this season. Overall, the B-Mets are 37-13 when scoring first. In contrast, Binghamton is 14-18 when letting their opponents score in the first inning. Binghamton has surrendered first inning runs in eight of their last 25 games. Overall, Binghamton is 21-34 when their opponent scores first. Every team in the EL has a winning record when scoring first.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets wrap up their series with Richmond Sunday at 1:35 PM at The Diamond. Binghamton then heads home to begin a six-game homestand following an off day Monday.
