Club de Foot Montreal News Release

BRONX, New York - The Montreal Impact will be in the Bronx to take on New York City FC for a third and final time this season this Saturday, at 2pm, at Yankee Stadium (TVA Sports, TSN Radio 690).

The Bleu-blanc-noir will be looking to avenge losses from their previous two meetings, falling 3-1 in New York on June 13 before losing 2-1 at home on July 7.

"This is a bit of a redemption game for me as I feel like I have something to prove against them," said goalkeeper Evan Bush. "We are playing really well since our last game against them and going forward we have a lot of confidence."

And although the small field will be a factor, the Impact now knows what to expect.

"It's tough to make runs at Yankee Stadium because the field is so small," said striker Jack McInerney. "It's hard to play balls over the defence because the keeper is right there. We will have to be smart in our movement and where to play the ball."

New York City FC will be able to count on reinforcements in the form of World Cup and Champions League winner Andrea Pirlo, who made his debut last week off the bench, playing a crucial role in two of his side's goals in a 5-3 win over Orlando City FC. In addition, Frank Lampard may be close to making his debut as well, questionable with a left soleus injury.

"Andrea Pirlo has been the reference point for all midfielders over the last decade, so playing against him will be tough," explained defender Wandrille Lefevre. "We will need to make sure we know where he is on the field and if I face him and have to tackle him hard, I will."

The Impact has added some reinforcements of its own, announcing earlier this week that the club signed Ivory Coast international and former Chelsea legend Didier Drogba. However, the Champions League winner will not be available for this weekend's game.

Defender Laurent Ciman took part in the MLS All-Star game midweek, playing the entire second half, helping shut out Tottenham over 45 minutes and wearing the captain's armband.

The Impact will play its next game at Stade Saputo on Wednesday, August 5 at 8pm. Meanwhile, the Impact will host the Trophee des Champions, featuring Paris Saint-Germain versus Olympique Lyonnais this Saturday at 3pm.
