One-Millionth Fan Expected to Attend a Chihuahuas Game this Weekend

EL PASO, Texas - July 31, 2015 - In just their second season the Chihuahuas will welcome their one-millionth guest through the gates of Southwest University Park on Friday, Saturday or Sunday of this homestand.
As of today, the Chihuahuas have drawn 988,546 guests at Southwest University Park for 121 games. The Chihuahuas need 11,454 to reach the historic mark.
"To draw one million fans in less than two full seasons shows how great the community support has been for the Chihuahuas," said El Paso General Manager Brad Taylor. "We are humbled to be in such elite company in Minor League Baseball so quickly."
The Chihuahuas have welcomed 439,609 through Southwest University Park in 2015 while averaging 8,141 in 54 games. The Chihuahuas registered 548,937 fans last season in El Paso.
When the one-millionth fan enters the gates over the projected weekend, the lucky guest is slated to receive the following:
- A pair of tickets to Opening Day 2016
- Family four pack to a future game
- A pair of tickets to the Gildan Triple-A Baseball National Championship Game and Fiesta
- WestStar Bank Club pass on the respective day
- Team autographed jersey and ball
- First pitch
- Opportunity to participate in an on-field contest
- A photo opportunity with the family on the field
- An inning with Tim Hagerty on the air
- Tour of the ballpark
- Chico seat visit
- 2015 giveaway souvenir gift bag
The team faces Tacoma through tonight and takes on Reno in a four-game series beginning on Saturday. The Chihuahuas have just 16 games left in the regular season after tonight. They are chasing Las Vegas for their first playoff berth, standing just 3.5 games back with 38 games left in the regular season.
The final home game of the 2015 campaign is Sunday, August 31 as the Chihuahuas take on Oklahoma City.
