Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release

Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC has received defender Tommy Redding on loan from Major League Soccer's Orlando City SC for the remainder of the USL season.

"We are very happy that Orlando City and Tommy are both enthusiastic about this loan," said Wilmington Hammerheads FC Technical Director and Head Coach Carson Porter. "Along with his quality, we hope Tommy brings a winning mentality to our team as we try to finish our season on a positive note."

The 18-year-old defender has yet to make a league appearance for Orlando during their inaugural MLS campaign this year. He was signed as the team's first-ever MLS Homegrown player in 2014, making 14 appearances as the club won their third USL Regular Season Championship.

Redding has also been a highly regarded, young player of the U15, U17, U18 and, most recently, the U20 Men's National Teams.

He is expected to make his debut with the Hammerheads on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Highmark Stadium.
