Gregory Strikes out 10 Batters as Rox Defeat Bucks 10-7

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox defeated the Waterloo Bucks 10-4 in front of a crowd of 1,900 at the Rock Pile in St. Cloud.
Reese Gregory (St. Cloud State) would start on the mound for the Rox. Gregory would toss 6.2 innings where he struck out 10 batters, scattered seven hits and did not allow an earned run.
With the win Gregory improves to 6-3 on the season. His ERA is down to 1.46 along with 66 strikeouts in 67.2 innings.
Jesse Anderson (Indians Hill Community College) would relieve Gregory and pitch 1.2 innings. He struck out two batters. Collin Strall (Louisiana State University) would pitch the final .2 inning where did not allow a hit and recorded the save.
Liam Bedford (Doane College) would start the scoring extravaganza in the first inning when he singled in Brett Pope (Western Carolina University).
John Sansone (Florida State University) doubled in Pope in the third inning. That was shortly followed by Sansone and Lee Miller (Davidson College) scoring on an error off the bat of Bedford.
The Rox would add more runs in the fourth inning starting with Jake Farr (Tennessee Tech) doubling in Austin Athmann (University of Minnesota, Farr would then be singled in by Miller.
Another run would be added in the fifth inning when Webb Bobo (Southeastern Louisiana University) scored on a Michael Strem (Boston College) single that went right up the middle of the infield.
The St. Cloud offense would finish off the night by hanging a three spot in the sixth inning. The scoring would begin when a Waterloo error would allow Miller to score. Another error by the Bucks would allow Sansone to score then Bobo would score on a sacrifice fly by Kyle Serrano (Colorado Mesa University).
The Rox are now 21-7 in the second half and 40-22 overall. St. Cloud leads the second half North Division standings by three and a half games over Willmar and only trail the Stingers by a half a game in the Overall Standings.
The Rox will finish the two-game series versus the Bucks tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. at the Rock Pile. Gates will open at 6:05 p.m. for fans. Tomorrow will be Summertime St. Patty's Night presented by Miller Lite. It's all green! Rox pint glasses to the first 500 fans 21 and older. Friday Night Fireworks!
