Live Audio, Video Streaming Gives Unprecedented Access, Exclusive Content for Home Games

July 30, 2015 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release

Fans of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will have access to their team like never before when live video and audio streaming of in-stadium game-day content comes to Ticats.ca, via the new Game Day Live platform, for the team's home-opener on Monday, August 3. Live video of pregame, halftime, and post-game content, including the radio play-by-play of the game against Toronto, will be available to fans in-stadium, throughout TigerTown, and around the world. The organization will deliver the same live video and audio streaming experience for every home game during the 2015 regular season.

Highlighted by first access to hear from Coach Austin following every home game, the Game Day Live platform on Ticats.ca becomes your number one destination for all post-game Tiger-Cats coverage. The Ticats TV Live presented by Baffin panel, featuring former players Paul Osbaldiston and Mike Morreale, will provide the most extensive post-game analysis available including exclusive interviews with Ticats coaches and players, and in-depth breakdowns that will unveil the real story of the game.

Prior to the game, and starting one hour before the 7 p.m. kickoff against the Argonauts on August 3, Ticats TV Live will also have its in-stadium pregame show streamed on the Game Day Live platform on Ticats.ca. The same insider analysis, interviews and features that fans at Tim Hortons Field receive on the stadium videoboard will be delivered to online viewers around the world. Halftime and postgame interviews and analysis by Osbaldiston and Morreale will frame the CKOC 1150 radio broadcast by Andy McNamara and John Salavantis.

"Ticats.ca is the destination for all things Tiger-Cats, and we are excited about the possibilities for how we can deliver an exceptional fan experience for both those people attending a game with mobile devices and those who can't be at the stadium on game day," said Matt Afinec, Chief Commercial Officer of the Tiger-Cats. "Our partner in this endeavor, Stadium Digital, is at the leading edge in the sports world of creating and delivering content that will be of value and interest to fans. For all future home games, we will be taking fans onto the field and behind the scenes, and delivering expert analysis from the Ticats TV Live presented by Baffin in-stadium panel and our broadcast partners that will amplify the game experience online in ways that no other team delivers to its fans."

The move builds on streaming of the Ticats June 8 preseason game that was met with positive reactions from fans. More than 10,800 unique stream viewers from 56 countries logged into Ticats.ca for an average viewing time of 67 minutes per user after the team made a flash announcement of that night's live stream only four hours before kickoff. The move rewarded 24,490 unique Ticats.ca visitors with the surprise opportunity to view that night's game. Traffic to the site included 81,875 page views after the announcement.

"Based on the overwhelming success of the June 8 launch, we are confident fans both at the stadium and around the world will find great value in the enhanced opportunities online for regular season home games," Afinec added. "People are consuming sports broadcasts in new ways now, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will be at the forefront in delivering exclusive content in the ways that fans most want to receive them."

The Game Day Live launch on August 3 coincides with the launch of Game Day Predictor on Ticats All Access, the team's fan membership program. Prior to games, fans will have the opportunity to earn bonus points in the All Access program by correctly predicting key statistics and events during Tiger-Cats home and away games.

As the ultimate go-to source for exclusive news, video, in-depth information about the team and stadium, team merchandise, and game tickets, Ticats.ca was re-launched this spring.
