Whitecaps and Hot Rods Stall Out

July 30, 2015 - Midwest League (MWL1)
West Michigan Whitecaps News Release

BOWLING GREEN, KY "" Wednesday's scheduled ballgame between the West Michigan Whitecaps and Bowling Green Hot Rods at Bowling Green Ballpark has been suspended in the bottom of the third inning.

Due to intense lightning throughout the evening, and in the spirit of player safety, the decision was made to complete the game as part of a Thursday doubleheader beginning at 6:00pm. At the time of suspension, the Whitecaps held a 1-0 lead courtesy of Mike Gerber's solo home run in the first inning. The twin bill will consist of the completion of the first game, followed by a seven-inning game with a 30-minute break in-between.

This series at Bowling Green concludes Thursday night. Right-hander Spencer Turnbull gets the start in the second game for West Michigan, against Brad Wallace for the Hot Rods. The resumption of Wednesday's game is scheduled for 6:00pm ET, and radio coverage with Dan Hasty begins at 5:50pm. A reminder that season, group and individual tickets can be reserved for any 2015 home game by calling the Whitecaps' front office at 616-784-4131 or visiting www.whitecapsbaseball.com.
