Doubleheader Scheduled for August 30
July 29, 2015 - Southern League (SL1)
Birmingham Barons News Release
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Regions Field will host its second doubleheader of the season Sunday, August 30, when the Lookouts visit the Magic City for their final regular-season bout with the Barons.
The twin bill is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. with the second game to follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. The two games land on a Salute to Armed Forces Sunday. Those presenting a Military ID at the ticket office will receive a $2 discount, and tickets purchased for the first game are also good for the second game.
The doubleheader is the result of a postponement from July 2 in Chattanooga. It will be the fourth time this season the Barons and Lookouts have met to play two, and for the second time at Regions Field. Birmingham is 4-2 in doubleheaders against Chattanooga this season.
The now six-game series against the Lookouts is the final home stand of the season, pending a Birmingham playoff berth. The Barons hit the road following the series to take on the Biscuits in Montgomery, Ala., for what could prove to be a pivotal five-game set. If the Barons claim a second-half Southern League crown, it would pin Birmingham against Chattanooga in the first round of the playoffs.
