Sea Dogs Announce Training Camp Roster

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs are excited to announce sixty players have been invited to training camp for the 2015-16 season.

Most players are scheduled to report to the club on Sunday, August 9th, and the first on-ice sessions are Monday, August 10th. A schedule for the first week of training camp will be released soon.

New players include 2015 QMJHL first overall draft pick, forward Joe Veleno, the first player in league history to obtain exceptional player status from Hockey Canada, plus two other first-round selections in goaltender Alex D'Orio and forward Cedric Pare.

Among the returnees are seven Sea Dogs drafted by NHL teams this summer -Jakub Zboril, Thomas Chabot, Samuel Dove-McFalls, Mathieu Joseph, Spencer Smallman, Bokondji Imama and Adam Marsh - along with leading scorer Nathan Noel and last year's top picks in the QMJHL Entry Draft, Luke Green and Julien Tessier.

Luke Green (Canada) and Oliver Felixson (Finland) will be arriving after the start of training camp due to their participation in selection camps for the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

Jakub Zboril will attend training camp with the Boston Bruins immediately following his participation with Team Czech Republic at a U20 Three Nations Tournament in Calgary. He is not expected to return to Saint John until September.

"It's a very exciting time for Sea Dogs fans," said General Manager Darrell Young. "With all of our returning players, impressive new faces and revamped coaching staff, we believe we're going to be a hardworking, entertaining team."

The Sea Dogs' first preseason game is Thursday, August 13th, at 7 p.m. against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. It's our Fan Appreciation exhibition game. Tickets are FREE and are available August 10th at the Harbour Station Box Office. (Tickets are available now to season ticket holders.)
