Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, WI- The Green Bay Bullfrogs were defeated in Game 2 of the series against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 3-1 on Tuesday night at Joannes Stadium.
The Bullfrogs dropped their record to 34-26 overall and 12-13 in the second half of the season.
Garrett Harrison allowed three runs in 5 2/3 innings with two strikeouts. Harrison has had a phenomenal season as one of the best pitchers in the Northwoods League, and tonight was the first time he allowed more than two runs in a game this season in eight starts.
Jake Johansmeier pitched very well for Wisconsin Rapids. He allowed one run in eight innings pitched with five strikeouts, as he improved his record to 6-1 on the year.
In his first game with the Bullfrogs since July 12, Harrison hit Zack Domingues on the first pitch of the game. A single and a walk loaded the bases, and Ernie Clement scored on a fielder's choice hit by Sam Tolleson.
The Bullfrogs grabbed a run in the bottom of the first thanks to doubles by Robb Paller and Danny Rosenbaum to tie the game.
With a Domingues on second base in the top of the fifth, Clement came up with a base hit past the infield. Leftfielder Paul Jacobson threw home, and Mason George applied the tag to cut down Domingues at the plate.
Beau Jordan came through with a sacrifice fly to centerfield to score Clement, which gave the Rafters a 2-1 lead, and Bryce Jordan's run-scoring single in the sixth to extend the advantage to two.
Connor Donovan threw 2/3 of an inning, and Clayton Uselman did not allow a hit in 2 2/3 inningd during his Bullfrogs debut.
