Mavericks to Host Military Appreciation Night at Heritage Field

ADELANTO, Calif. - The High Desert Mavericks, Advanced-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, will be hosting Military Appreciation Night as their Signature Saturday event at Heritage Field on Saturday, August 15.  The double-header against the Los Angeles Angels affiliate, the Inland Empire 66ers, is scheduled to start at 5:30 P.M. with gates opening at 5:00 P.M. to make up for one of the postponed games on July 19.

In celebration of this signature event, the Mavericks are offering $5.00 buy one, get one free military tickets for up to eight tickets with one Military or Veteran ID, which brings each ticket to just $2.50.  (Valid only at the box office, not valid with any other discount or group offer).

As part of this celebration, the Mavericks are looking to the community for local, talented, military/veteran individuals or ensembles to sing/perform the National Anthem and God Bless America for the game. In addition, community members are invited to nominate a special family member or friend, who is active duty or a veteran, for their chance to participate in a ceremonial first pitch during pre-game on August 15. There are five slots open, one for each branch of the military: Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
