Everett AquaSox News Release
EVERETT, Wash. - Drew Jackson, Logan Taylor and Luiz Gohara were named to the Northwest League All-Star Team, the league announced on Tuesday, July 28. Jackson and Taylor were selected as probable starters for the NWL in its first-ever match-up with the Pioneer League All-Stars.
The Inaugural Pioneer League-Northwest League All-Star Game begins with Fan Fest and a Home Run Derby at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Spokane's Avista Stadium. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start time.
"It will be exciting to watch three outstanding players from the Everett AquaSox in this new, annual event," Everett AquaSox General Manager Danny Tetzlaff said. "Many of our players have played at a high level, and we're happy these three can represent the team."
Jackson is a shortstop who was selected by the Mariners in the fifth round of the 2015 MLB Draft out of Stanford. He was recently named NWL Player of the Week for the week ending July 26. He leads the league with 23 steals in 2015 and holds a .368 batting average, the second-best mark in the league.
Taylor was named the starting leftfielder for the NWL All-Stars, but has also played some infield for the AquaSox in 2015. He was selected in the 12th round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Mariners out of Texas A&M. Taylor is second in the league in RBIs, with 30, and has 13 extra-base hits this season.
Gohara is currently rated as the No. 3 prospect in the Seattle Mariners minor-league system by MLB.com. He was signed as a much-hyped international prospect in 2012 out of Brazil. The left-handed pitcher boasts 34 strikeouts in the NWL this season and has held left-handed batters to a .154 batting average.
