Suns Get on Top of Worcester Early But Can't Hang on in 5-4 Loss

The Pittsfield Suns (20-21) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-4 to the Worcester Bravehearts (17-25) on Sunday.

An RBI double by Evan Hirschbaum gave the Worcester Bravehearts the lead in the seventh inning.

The Worcester Bravehearts were led by Zack Tower's hitting. Tower went 3-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the fourth and seventh innings.

The Pittsfield Suns had no answer for Adam De La Cruz, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Pittsfield Suns managed just two hits off of the the Worcester Bravehearts' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Jeremy Giles racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Pittsfield Suns. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the second inning.

Dom Grillo ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
