Record Breaking Night for Rogues

MEDFORD, OR - It was a record breaking night for the Medford Rogues on multiple fronts as they defeated the visiting Bellingham Bells 18-8 tonight at Harry & David Field. With the win, the Rogues now lead the series 2-0 and improve to 19-22 in league play while the Bells drop to 26-15 in the league.

The Rogues were led offensively by left fielder Dan Mayer who hit his 11th home run of the season and as a result, took possession of the WCL's home run record. Mayer had six appearances at the plate for four hits, four runs, three RBI's, and one home run while his batting average for the season improves to .329. Second baseman John Kinne also had a solid night behind the plate with two hits coming from four at bats for two runs and two RBI's. Kinne's batting average for the season sits at .275.

On top of Mayer's league setting home run, the Rogues broke the franchise record for number of runs and hits in a game. The new record for runs now stands at 18 while hits in a game stands at 20.

Pitcher Jackson Bertsch picked up the win tonight from his five innings on the mound. Bertsch gave up six hits for four runs, two of which were earned, while walking two and striking out three. Bertsch's ERA for the season holds at 5.68. Kade Wagner, Dustin Hughes, Gabe Genter, Daniel Ferrell, and DJ Wilson all pitched for the Rogues tonight.

For the Bells, pitcher Grant Schneider recorded the loss in four innings pitched for the visitors. Schneider gave up seven hits for seven runs, six which were earned, while walking four and striking out two. Schneider's ERA for the season sits at 4.45.

The Rogues meet Bellingham in the third and final game of the series tomorrow night at Harry and David Field. The first pitch is set for 6:35pm.
