Fans Flock to Canal Park for Three Consecutive Sellouts

July 25, 2015 - Eastern League (EL1)
Akron RubberDucks News Release

(AKRON, OHIO) The fans of Northeast Ohio have made the Akron RubberDucks the home of affordable family fun with 24,282 fans making their way to Canal Park, helping the team sellout three consecutive games starting Thursday, July 23 and running through tonight's game vs. Altoona Curve.

Fans also helped break the single-game RubberDucks attendance record in consecutive nights, first with 8,301 fans on Friday and then topping that with tonight's 8,330 attendance. Due to $6.1 million in stadium renovations prior to the 2014 season, the Canal Park capacity was lowered to 7,630 when the franchise became the RubberDucks. Prior to this weekend, the previous RubberDucks' attendance mark was 8,258 set on July 3, which broke the 2014 mark of 8,198 set on July 4, 2014.

"We are humbled and honored by the response of our fans to what we are trying to create in downtown Akron," said RubberDucks General Manager Jim Pfander. "I am extremely proud of the turnout and cannot thank them enough for their continued support."

Tickets remain for the rest of the homestand from Sunday, July 26, through Wednesday, July 29.

Tickets start at $5 and fans can purchase tickets by stopping at the Akron RubberDucks box office at Canal Park weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or on a game day starting at 10 a.m. and running until gates open one hour before the scheduled game time. Tickets are also available by calling 330-253-5151 or on www.akronrubberducks.com.
