Liz Tough-Luck Loser in 1-0 Shutout

July 24, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - For the second straight night the Indianapolis Indians' starting pitcher allowed just one run into the seventh inning and finished without the win, as an unearned run spelled the difference in a 1-0 loss to the Louisville Bats Friday night at Victory Field.

A capacity crowd of 14,904 packed the ballpark for the contest, giving the Tribe 10,000+ fans in each of the first five games during the homestand.

Radhames Liz treated the sellout to six shutout innings, but only after being nicked for a lone run when his wild throw to first sailed into right field to score Louisville's unearned run.

Liz's loss follows a gem and no-decision by Angel Sanchez, who tossed eight one-run innings last night against Scranton.

Elias Diaz finished with three of the Indians' six hits.
