Torrington Titans News Release
The Torrington Titans (18-19) and the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (23-16) both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the Torrington Titans that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 2-1 win at Vineyard Baseball Park.
Dean Lockery (CCSU) and Nick Lamberti (UConn) combined for all three of the Titans hits on the evening as they plated both runs in the first inning of the game.
Frank Valentino (Suffolk County CC) picked up the win for the Torrington Titans. Valentino allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings of work. He was named Futures League pitcher of the night for his performance.
The Titans are back in action at home on Friday night against the Nashua Silver Knights at 7:00 p.m. All-Star Robbie Hitt will be on the mound for the Titans.
