Chihuahuas Win Thursday to Take Series in Sacramento

Daniel McCutchen allowed only one run in 6.1 innings Thursday in the El Paso Chihuahuas' 5-2 win over the Sacramento River Cats. The lone run McCutchen allowed ended his 17-inning scoreless streak. The Chihuahuas won three of the four games in Sacramento and took 12 of 16 against the River Cats this season.

The Chihuahuas scored in each inning from the fourth through seventh, including two sacrifice flies by Alex Dickerson and Cody Decker's team-leading 18th home run. Dickerson went 1-for-2 with two RBIs, one day after he went 5-for-5 with a walk. One of the Chihuahuas' sixth-inning runs arrived when former Padres' infielder Everth Cabrera dropped a pop up with two outs and Casey McElroy at third.

Will Middlebrooks made his Chihuahuas debut Thursday, entering in the sixth inning and going 0-for-2 at the plate. The Chihuahuas have won six of their last nine games.
