Zack Tillery activated from 7-day DL

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Zack Tillery has been activated from the 7-day disabled list; RHP Trevor Hildenberger has been promoted to Fort Myers, and RHP Chris Mazza has been released from the Kernels roster. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.

Tillery went on the DL back on July 12th with a left calf strain. He has made 18 appearances (nine starts) for the Kernels this season, posting a 5-4 record, 2.67 ERA and one save. In 64 IP, he allowed 48 hits and 20 runs (19 earned) with 21 walks and 54 strikeouts.

Hildenberger made 28 relief appearances for the Kernels, posting a 2-1 record, 0.80 ERA and 14 saves in 15 attempts. In 45 IP he allowed 24 hits and six runs (four earned) with five walks and 59 strikeouts.

Mazza was activated from the DL on July 14th and made two relief appearances. In 3 IP, he allowed five hits and three runs (all earned) with two walks, two strikeouts and a 9.00 ERA.

Tillery is scheduled to be the starting pitcher for Thursday's 6:35 PM home game against Wisconsin. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at 24 active players, one below the Midwest League maximum of 25, with 9 players currently on the DL.

The Kernels are in the midst of a six game home stand with game against Wisconsin and Beloit. The current home stand continues through Sunday, July 26th.
